>>79252607That why I am suspecting foul play there, not sure why no one starts out there. Might be also that they drown because they get no engagement.
Which is furthermore strange, because being a Vtuber on Twitch:
>VTubers also enjoyed 52% of engagement compared to 48% of non-VTubers.>VTuber viewership grew 515% from October 2017 to 2023, compared to non-VTubers' 200% growth rateAnd it is know that Vtubers are boosted on Twitch. Now why would that be the case? Would be better for Corpos to grow there right?
>Source: https://blog.gamesight.io/vtuberI suspect that is done so that Indies will always choose Twitch over Youtube.
Twitchs only real losing fight were Vtubers, where they simply couldn't win against Youtube.
Twitch at the time (2020) didn't have an answer to Hololive and Nijisaniji.
And when HoloEN was announced they needed an Answer. So then VShojo formed, with Gunrun as a CEO. Even if he quit a few years earlier, I think Twitch is very involved in VShojo.
So having a Vtuber presence and boosting Indies is an easy way to incentives Indies to go Twitch instead of Youtube.
Also boosting indies helps them to acquire new "talents" if you will. A lot of /lig/s are part of the VShojo cliqué.
Generally, Vtubing on Twitch feels a lot like the MCU where VShojo would be the Avengers and throw whatever other Marvel Character in which would be the indies. And them not joining VShojo makes me believe that it is better for them that way since they can dump them at will, while they give the spots to people like Matara, Henya and Kson because those people would not join their cliqué as an indie.
Obviously there is a lot to consider and a lot of cases where that can contradict that, they aren't in absolute control and it would but more than just suspicious then. Still, it is awfully convenient how interconnected VShojo is while all the Corpos and Indies on Youtube are very much seperated. They claim it is talent freedom, I call this having a tight grip on the competition on the platform they can steer, because otherwise they'd be replaced already. I also believe Silvervale, Nyanner and Veibae quitting is something you can make rrats that play into that as well. How are their numbers recently?
Anyway, enough schizoing.
