Imagine a bathtub with a leak that causes it to lose 10 gallons of water a day, if you start pumping in 50 gallons the water level will go up as long as you're doing it
People will start dumping AC stock because it's overvalued but at a slower rate than the buyback
It's actually kinda weird that Roku doesn't understand basic finance, stock buybacks should only be used if there is nothing else to do with the money and your company is running perfectly since shareholders have to pay less taxes on it than dividends
Using it to temporary pump up your stock price is literally just burning money and the reason why it was illegal for so long (it's a shitty tool so it's mostly used for market abuse)
