>>79415495>It's just not common for them to announce it because of the obvious implications and reception they'd get from the guy fans.Honestly, that is the worst type of decision to make, because not only does it allow false narratives to spread like "women don't like video games" it also makes it so that particular hobby, which has nothing to do with the silliness of the people in it, become a self-fulfilling prophecy, while also having people internalize those negatives. Nerdy hobbies have always had a stigma because people primarily want to look "cool", same reason why we have this era if ironic anime fans. Hell, if embarrassing people in a community is all it took for you to dump the thing you love, you didn't like it that much imo. I've seen as bad or even worse behavior in "normie" pasttimes.
