The thing you have to understand is that there are a lot of SouthEast Asians, Latin Americans, Indians, Blacks, and Middle Eastern people on 4chan, and especially on the /vt/ board.
They are very conservative in the sense that gay people are not encouraged nor acknowledged, so they simply fetishize or view homosexuals as a funny thing.
White people are generally more accepting of homosexuals as evidenced by a white guy, John Money, coining the term "gender identity". I personally think he's a hack who ruined the life of a child to validate his claims.
The Germans are well-involved, with books on transgender people being burned during the 1930s and with gay people being labeled with the pink cloth.
In short, you are in a part of the internet that is not progressive and prefers the status quo. If you want someplace that's progressive, go to Twitter or Tumblr and stay there. 4chan is what the Koreans call "고인물" [derogatory].
