For most viewers this isn't their first vtuber rodeo, and a lot of them just went "cute penguin girl!!" and tried watching her streams but weren't really all that satisfied whether they admit it or not. Most of the vtuber """community""" is in permanent overbearing obnoxious whiteknight mode, aka NO confrontration/hot opinions ever, so those people will never admit it besides places like here that Petra is kinda boring. Cute but that's not enough to hang onto people long-term necessarily, not when they hear about how crazy fun Selen is.
The swinging of the subs to Selen speaks for those too ball-less to say their feelings out loud at least. Now that we've had time to see them, Selen has more personality than the rest of her mini-gen combined, and more Apex skill in her pinky finger than most of Nijisanji combined - so that really did it to break her out. Petra both streams at bad times and her content is just blah, bleh, she's .. a very normal person with a boring personality.
As for Rosemi who both has an excellent design and cute voice? I dunno.. rosemi...
Actually I do know, her voice is actually not that cute sounding to many. I think it is but apparently that's not ubiquitous, and yeah I do think it's not as cute as Petra's. Rosemi's bumbling childlike personality with Petra's voice could have been the killer combo but that's just not how it rolled out.
