>>80220029>>80218875> real male vtubers were never triedok I kinda want to address this a little bit from the perspective of the history of streaming as a whole.
Ever since the start of Justin tv the EN streaming space was dominated by men for the most part. The old internet culture meant that women were generally laughed at and most of them couldn't really take the bantz that twitch chat kept dishing at them, so female streamers were never a big thing barring some isolated pockets.
For the longest time the only women that found success in streaming were those that went full whore with their tits out and once onlyfans got launched, that type basically BECAME the stereotypical "female streamer".
And of course most female streamers were bad at games, so they got absolutely shit on by their chat every time they played games, continuously compared with male streamers and were overall never taken seriously. This is still the case on twitch.
From a period of ten fucking years from 2007 to 2017 you could use the exact same argument to dismiss female streamers as a whole. And you'd have been right, in that context.
But, as we all know, Hololive happened. And they took over the entirety of the female streaming space, so much so that even twitch has some popular VTubers now - and their chat isn't full of people shitting on them for being bad at games.
Male VTubers already had a lot of success. Hal, VGorilla, Kuzuha, Fuwa, Toya, that one niji male that broke SC records during his 3D etc. etc. are mid-tier male chuubas, and Kuzuha himself used to compete with Pekora regularly for global tally gold.
But sadly most of these male chuubas are from nijisanji, and they just can't have success without sabotaging themselves.
Point being, there's present examples already, and we don't know how the future might unfold.
Your criticism might age well, but it might also age poorly. Unless someone actually tries to understand the market and play into it, we will never know.
