Like a lot of other large Youtubers they function off gigantic reach giving them ad revenue and sponsorships while holos typically function off a dedicated fanbase buying merch and donating. They make up in volume what they can't get in quality.
The only way this whole thing pays off is if it shoots Kobo to six million subs or something, but even then I doubt she will be earning enough. For one, she doesn't even put out content at anywhere the frequency they do. And she's limited in the kind of sponsorships and content she can produce anyway while they aren't limited at all.
I can only think it stems from the typical naive influencer perception that her subs will translate into money...somehow, eventually, possibly, with no clue how the exact mechanism will function. Which is why she's begging for memberships now.
