Had Nijisanji had first mover advantage during covid in EN (no, HoloIN doesn't count), we would be looking at a very different industry here that's more in line with general content rather than the hyper fall in love parasocial content we have now. That's been slowly changing on Twitch with male vtubers that genuinely have a straight male audience like Heavenlyfather, but the perception of the industry from normies is still Hololive, and while some members absolutely do appeal to a general audience among both Holostars and Hololive (Bettel is a good example even if his model leans more toward the otome side), that isn't the perception.
