>>80297199As a disclaimer, I'm making these examples for fun since I like mythology, I'm not suggesting there's intentional occult symbolism or dark forces at work.
A ton of vtubers make their characters goddesses or other powerful supernatural entities, there's also a lot that use demonic imagery, probably to be chuuni. Crosses aren't unheard of, but usually don't seem to have any intentional parallels to or endorsements of Christianity in the attached designs or personas. That said, to keep it to the main three ENG corpos:
Holo Myth all have domains that correspond to common archetypes of deities in myth, The Sea, (Gura,) The Sky, (Kiara,) Death/The Underworld, (Mori,) The Unknown/Knowledge, (Ina,) and, the outlier, Ame, a human (possibly representing a culture hero? Or representing the cult/audience, just as she "investigates" myth, so too is the new western audience "investigating" Hololive.) These parallels are more explicit in Council.
Niji had the Selen/Elira rivalry, with possible Horus/Set parallels, with Selen being "killed" before her "daughter" Doki defeats her murderer (Niji falling apart from controversy.)
In Vshojo Ironmouse could be taken as an example of the archetype of an underworld goddess that "dies" and "revives", symbolizing the changing of seasons, crop cycles, and rebirth. Curiously, though, she has no associations with vegetation, crops, or fertility, even if the "lore" of her learning to enjoy life with sickness can symbolize rebirth, she is associated not only with death, and the Underworld, but also evil and demons. Curiously, her "rival", Silvervale, does have imagery of vegetation, and the sakura flower, which is a long-time symbol of life, death, and rebirth. She's also depicted as a seductress who kills her lovers, an Ishtar-type figure to Mouse's Persephone (or Ereshkigal?) Perhaps the symbolism suggests they were once one, before the Vshojo cult split.
