>>8070179This, it strikes me as fucking redditor faggots afraid that if /vt/ gets acknowledged, that maybe they don't actually uniquely matter and are only promoted because they're so sanitized and "safe" - literally, it's Cover's personally controlled safe space, their mouthpiece. Maybe, the chuubas themselves from their general lack of using it, don't actually give a shit about it at all. Some of them come to make corporate promotion plugs to us kaigai-nikki because many of them are for some fucking reason ignorant enough to think reddit is like "western twitter" as if we don't use it and it. Now that Coco is gone, their one thread directly connecting them is severed so they are increasingly insecure about how relevant they really are. Looking at how NijiEN is (or at least was until yesterday) the hot new thing and couldn't even be discussed on their leddit, at least some of them must wonder how relevant they really are to the scene as a whole.
The thing is, for all its detractions, because of the lack of needing to worry about minding reputations here, you can for once truly speak your mind and you see some truths that are buried elsewhere. GFE is a thing and matters a lot, relationship status matters a lot for people actually willing to SC and membership etc, these are fucking basic fundamentals of vtubing the Japanese aren't shy to talk about but many Westerners really really are. We actually can go into subjects beyond "x is cute, check out this meme about y, z made this cool video" which is literally all Cover wants their sub to ever be. Reddit sucks and knows it, and we know it, so they're very insecure about here-ness and want to try to gatekeep the Holos from us. They can't fucking stop them though, they never could. What, are they afraid Holos are actually real people and not the memes from clips, and that they aren't afraid of us like they are?
Not to mention, we were talking about Holos on /jp/ before the holo leddit even fucking existed. Any existing chuuba who was legit into Holo for a while probably has known of /jp/'s chuuba threads because it was the only place on the Western internet really-really talking about them. It's not unlikely at all at least some of them are here if not many. Consider the "holoEN is a myth" guy on /jp/, it is unarguable some fo them have been lurking.
