>>80332130>why are all the famous and popular vtubers mentally ill?Tortured artist trope and other trends romanticizing mental illness.
There's no job stability, you have to be constantly growing and overexerting yourself. Once you get to the top, the only way is down when someone else replaces you. The moment you plateau and hit the brakes for the sake of mental health is the moment where your public (and thus your income) will shift towards your replacement with greater potential since you've just shown everyone how far you could go.
>Wouldn't that hinder them from getting popular in the first place? No because if I wanted to watch normalfags i'd just walk out of my room.
If you want success without mental illness then you must leave the internet.
>And why did becoming mentally ill become a key to success in the vtubing industry? It's trendy, just like everyone on shitter diagnoses themselves with adhd, tism and bpd (depression and burnout are not trendy anymore).
Being an outlier in as many things as you can is an easy way to get people remotely interested in you.
You get sympathy points from other people that think "they just me fr!!"
You get pity points from other people that think "let's support this chuuba because their mental illness makes everything extra hard for them"
You get excused for your own incompetence
You can be a normie and /vt/ schizos will say that you're unhinged and pretend really well
Playing the mental illness card will put you in an advantage in the end
