All of this focus on the nepohires is intended to distract from the privacy breach they tried to cover up last time they had auditions. Zen put the focus on the nepohire issue because they have already selected a 2view who has no apparent connections to the company. It worked, and now this is the focus for this news cycle, rather than how badly they handled the fact that the people who auditioned last time had their personal info revealed.

I really don't understand why they bother opening auditions in the first place. They know that the people who apply can see how much of the audition video was watched, right? If they don't even bother watching past 5 seconds on the majority of auditions, how can they possibly claim to have a fair process when they end up hiring the one person they'd scouted already?
