>>80965492Relationships in the West, in their entirety, revolve around transactions now and have been reduced to the point of removing all emotion from them. So all streamers have a little gay speech about how their fans aren't their friends and aren't worth a fuck while simultaneously asking for donations and forgetting they make a living from the kindness of people's hearts, usually due to these strangers liking the personality of the streamer. Streaming is by nature parasocial. No different than watching that one street performer that's always in the same spot of that one place you walk by every day. You just so happen to know a bit more about said performer and sit down next to them while they do their thing, as they occasionally talk to you between the performance.
Western streamers have the mentality that they can just turn on a stream and generate money, and anyone that wants anything more than just sitting in silence watching them with no emotion is a parasocial fuck that needs to be publicly humiliated for expecting the streamer to enjoy the company of the audience, which they will make VERY clear to you that they don't, with the implication and undertones of the whole thing just being one big elaborate cash transaction.
But then, if you treat the streamer with no emotion and show them nothing but hostility, they cry about it too despite that being closer to what they want the audience to be. The reason they make no sense, again, is because they're fucking insane and their addiction to being online has made them forget what human interaction even is. This is not just vtubers, it's every streamer pretty much btw.
>tl;dr westerners are becoming more and more sociopathic by the day and the internet encourages them and their fans to be the same
