>>81102879If Disney actually wanted in on VTubers, they would have pushed hard to compete with Sony's attempt at an agency, all in Japan of course.
Instead it seems Disney wants nothing with VTubing because any semi-competent market analyst sees Sony canning like 2 overseas groups and failing to get their JP agency to do big numbers and then said analyst urges investors to not jump into something that will not give big returns fast. Not even in Japan which is the primary market of VTubing.
Back to the start.
If Disney really wanted to, they would have already debuted VTubers either directly under some new agency of their own or behind the Disney JP channel.
They have not done any of that because their current objective is to either find ways to keep their business afloat or to find someone that is willing to buy them in pieces until eventually they are fully sold.
Their park earnings are on a very slight but consistent downwards trend.
They are not jumping onto any fad or niche venture anytime soon, much less throwing millions to buy a startup of something their tech higher ups can't even fully comprehend.
Last time they did that, Disney+ happened. Yikes.
