>>819585Regarding 'behind the scenes' tidbits, it ain't bullshit, but it really depends on their respective manager.
I know some holo member gets more freedom, more scheduling support for studio, while some idea from the talent gets shot down at manager level.
Some talents did voice out their frustration against this "gatekeeping", and turnover rate for Towa's Manager is higher than Mcdonalds cashier. There is a lot of speculation, but I honestly think the management side of all talent agencies always did some risk assessment and PR analysis before letting them through. Aloe roommate did say Cover is one of the few good ones compared to pile of garbage out there.
Every goddamn vtubers under the sun unfortunately compete, craving for a slice of pie of Hololive. Not blaming the JP vtubers, after seeing how volatile Japanese audience are regarding to drama especially with a simple slander and bullying can affect a reputation overnight (even with corpo backing). In addition, EN Vtubers are bringing new type of content compared to the old Japanese streaming content, and Hololive undoubtedly nurtured that innovation. They're racing to increase their TOEIC scores to get admitted, since Cover pretty much gave up on redirecting EOPs to EN. The gaijins ain't budging off JP talent anytime soon
Too bad, they haven't realized the savagery of dark side of overseas cancel culture yet. It's a sad fact, the Japanese vtubers resent their own audience and this sentiment will spread to other agency and art industry.
Every agency already admitted at this point there is no use for them to poach the Hololive talent, but its the talent management and brand design that made these broken girls work.
