>>81308523>>81309526This is exactly why we keep telling you to do what you want first. Do vtubing because it's what you enjoy first and foremost and not because you want a certain kind of audience. You do not have to appeal to us at all. No one is saying you need to appeal to cbdct enjoyers for any reason and the fact that people think we tell any vtuber "you HAVE to pander to us or you're DOA" is probably why we get called toxic or any other buzzword. I'm sure you didn't mean that question to be taken in that sort of connotation, but I wanted to put that out there for people that like to jump to that kind of conclusion.
The best reason I can think of that may be different from appealing to any other type of audience is you avoid more than half the potential drama you could have had if you collabed with females. No matter what, collabing with girls has always bought in some type of drama or trouble for both sides. Why go through that when avoiding it is easy? Especially since there are so many more male vtubers to reach out to for collabs? Sure the audience for male vtubers is smaller, but it's better to target an audience that is already interested in that one aspect rather than convince an audience who is primarily interested in the opposite, no? Second, it's easy to appeal to this audience. You don't need to do anything specific like you have to do for male unicorns. Males have a ton of weird rules like no swearing, be "pure", not have any significant other IRL, no lewd jokes, only play "bro" games that pander to them and you can't be into BL or otome games, they hate chunni lore, and you need to do yurishit and can't be too straight. For us, all you need to do is not collab with girls and if you have a significant other, keep that info off stream and away from your vtuber persona. That's literally it. Different people will have preferences like what games they will or will not watch and their tolerance when it comes to certain jokes but overall you can play what you want, swear all you like, be a slut for fictional characters (I hate it when guys do it too much but some women like it), and yap about whatever you're interested in for hours on end. You can even play hentai vns and talk about yuri if that's what you're into, there's plenty of girls that like that. Personally, I will help a boy grow if he has something to offer me first and if he makes me happy. I'm not gonna do it if he doesn't appeal to me first. He's the one trying to gain fans in the first place. That's why I'm supporting Avallum so hard; they're working hard and avoiding collabs with females in addition to providing cute boy content, so in return I offer them my money (superchats, buying merch, etc) and support (liking and commenting under every video, retweeting streams, telling friends to sub to them, tweeting about them to get more tweets related to them onto my friends' timeline, and soon I'll be making fan art, etc).
