>>8126926Good afternoon, Knowledge Seeker Ayy. Today has been, by all technical definition, a day, so late response.
1) Yes, clips of HoloEN shortly after their debut got me started on vtubers.
2) Whatever I could catch of EN, Gen5, Fubuki, or any dabbling in Eigo streams, in addition to clips of all shapes and sizes.
3) Cute anime girls being cute, honestly. Mostly, it was like watching a slice-of-life anime, but in realtime. A notable exception was catching part 1 of Botan's "Baba Is You" playthrough, where I was just raw impressed by her ability to pick up on linguistics differences between JP and EN and solve puzzles based around that kind of word magic.
4) I came along the Koopa bus, so not that long. Took quite a while to actively make Youtube and Twitter accounts to track them properly, and longer yet still to start chatting.
5) Following Kwap, it really boiled down to actual ability to interact. For large corpos, it's a complete crapshoot if anything other than emote spam gets noticed, and with smaller indies, chat moves slow enough that individual messages are much more frequently read out.
6) Not really. Most streamers tend towards gaming, drawing, and singing, with dabbling into camera-based streams. Art creation, be it picture or music, is enjoyable, games are fun, singing is almost always a treat.
7) The closest I had to an oshi in the corporate world was probably Ina. The "do your reps" mindset resonates strongly with me. Not all of my favorite indies do art streams, however, so it's not a deal breaker one way or the other.
8) Indie feels much more wild-west, in a multitude of fashions. You can fly closer to the TOS of the platforms, get wilder with song and game choice, build things on camera. There's more room for experimentation without fear of yabbing too hard.
9) In general, I'm content. Today, I'm not feeling it, at all. Work is driving me insane so I'm going to miss almost everything I wanted to watch today, the rest of the day is looming ahead of me, it's still horrible outside... I'm just not having a good time. Tomorrow will probably be better, and it always turns around eventually.
