>>81248909I think it's wishful thinking.
During the Selen days, I thought she had a good knack for making streams that'd seem dull and made them one of the best streams I've seen. Sadly, those streams are RIP in piss now, but when she streamed Starcraft and kept spazzing out about Tassadar dying being unprotected or a zerg rush coming out of nowhere she wasn't prepared was great. It was fun because here I was believing she'd be able to be a great variety streamer that could make anything work. That phased out quickly because some time later, there was a cringe tweet or YouTube Community post she made along the lines of "This is who I am, I play what I want to play," and suddenly, she was all about Apex. I guess she's fine at it, but it was not what I signed up for.
I still had faint hope because she'd run through a Megaman game every few months, those were fun, getting up to 5 or 6. And it was fun seeing something that really brought fear into her, customer service, with one of the Cook, Serve, Delicious games to where she got fed up with making food and swapped to her room background saying "Okay, I'm deleting this game."
It's unfortunate, it's a strength where chat could laugh with the streamer, but that's not where her heart lied, she just wanted to be good at shooters. Her "hidden gem" talk saying she was picked up and she responded "lmao, I'm just good at shooters, you really want me?" And it just feels like it begins and ends there. Sure, some stuff like the Barista game and her feeling she aged 20 years in Chained Together are amusing, but it doesn't feel the same.
It makes you think, she's the one who got Obsydia involved with projects but due to not being part of the clique, during the last half of her Niji run, she kept getting her ideas shot down. And now with her free as an indie, you feel like she's unbound, she can do more than she ever could now...and what does she have to show for it? I'm not expecting first or second year Ame creatividad, but there should be some ambition she should be showing.
Guess I'm thankful she's bringing WrestleTuber back.
I'd like her to be a powerhouse, but it seems like she's settled. It's a similar case with kson, after the Coco graduation, people were expecting her to do crazy shit never possible with Cover.
And ask yourself, who even talks about kson anymore?
It's a fascinating set of what-ifs, but the real answer is just disappointing.
