Twitter is useless for 2views, the whole circlejerk stays on twitter, they won't watch streams and it will be mostly other 2views replying anyways.
Most important: Have decent sound quality. Shitty mic = instant change channel. For the model: an expensive model is not necessary for starting, but have something with a decent design. Don't be yet another fucking generic vroid catgirl/succubus/guy with a hoodie.
Have a regular stream schedule. Being consistent creates habits and expectations which makes people who like your content into regulars.
Find a niche. Niche interests will bring niche viewership, but loyal. It will be a matter of finding ways to reach the kind of audience who might be interested in that.
Twitch is already too saturated with vtubers who just wing it and play whatever they feel like from their backlog with no thought or entertainment value, don't be like that, you'll be a nobody. Same with generic coombait vtubers, already saturated.
You can expand types of content as little experiments when you already have an established fanbase.
If you're a 2view you're gonna attract groomers. The basic groomer tactics are, in general:
>getting into mod positions for more private talks with you (and power over others)>oil baron for a while, then guilt trip you>yesman you for a while then 180 and start demanding things (another kind of guilt trip) You can be streaming for 5 years and remain a 2view or sub 200 if you don't have either:
>a gigaraid that you don't fuck up (neurosama raids specially can be a golden lottery ticket, but you need to react accordingly and be entertaining)>a network/clique of collab members, which creates an ecosystem that draws more people in (like holo does with gens) and more viewers circulating the ecosystem, more chances to have eyes on you, more networking etc>someone huge reacts to a clip of yours, you react back, and so on
