I suspect nijiEN management pushed her into this actually, riku has said one of the strategies to try to get nijiEN back on its feet was tournaments after all so they likely looked over their roster and thought "hey, she likes this game, and it has a comp scene let's get her in!" without thinking about the fact you need to do more than just like the game to be competitive. sounds like the kind of logic some out of touch middle aged person would conclude thinking games are all the same.
