Gura's model is the blandest and most covered up out of all the Holos, literally just a white haired anime girl and she doesn't even wear the shark hoodie. So it's definitely not the model that made her, that narrative is dumb as fuck. It's because Gura had the most attention grabbing debut and consistently knew how to generate moments. Clips are what direct viewers to vtubers and Gura knows how to do and say things that people can make animations and fanart over, for a long time even the little things she did would spawn art or some parody and those would get lots of clicks. I'm not saying Gura is the most entertaining vtuber ever, but if she never did anything charming literally no one would be able to make any memes or clips of her, she knows how to pander and play up just enough to have an audience. It's not a loyal gachikoi audience like Pekora's, it's just a bunch of guys that like her voice and goofiness, more in it for the memes, but it's still an audience, otherwise she would be a 2view by now. Also all vtubers can be boring, they all have dead air for most of the streams, no matter how wacky they seem in clips. That applies to every vtuber ever. Gura is not a good talker, somewhat awkward but still makes it work. The few streams I watched from her, she does still show comedic timing and can be legit funny. (Fig Newton joke, the 1 int joke delivery in NV, the entirety of the horror VR girl game especially that hilarious pause she did, if you know you know, the DMC streams were fun, she even has extensive gardening knowledge and did a whole stream for it which was pretty unique, her MH streams were fun, the Stickmin game, etc. basically streams where she's actually into whatever she's doing, she can genuinely be fun to watch. If she was a JP and said everything in japanese instead of English I guarantee anons would be praising her streams too. Again, I don't watch every HoloEN stream but from all I've seen Gura isn't all that worse or better than the others. I actually thought the "not enough streams, come give spankies" at that guillotine was pretty charming and funny. And getting a featuring her fans, a bunch of lolicons on the most famous loli vtuber song was a pretty cool move. So was making the only animated LoGH Skies of Love parody in existence. She knows how to please and stays drama free. The only drama I remember from the sharkgirl is a bunch of greynames that might not even be real sharkfags shat up an Iofi stream but I highly doubt Gura would take the time and effort to target her or even care.

I'm not playing devil's advocate here, I just think Gura isn't bad as people say. Biboo is definitely everything I want from a Gura-type chuba, and hopefully doesn't get burnt out like her.
