I'm just waiting for her to finish that game. I know she's part of Gamers but long ass RPGs for several days straight kill people's interest so fast. On the other hand, I have no problem watching Subaru play FFVII because she does it twice a week during weekends. I remember way back in the day before Gen4 even debuted when the exact thing happened but with Fubuki at the undisputed number 1 and Aqua in second place with a strong lead over the third, which was the actual competitive place.
It still surprises me to see just how far has Fubuki fallen in terms of numbers compared to the others. Not trying to numberfag, but I genuinely remember everyone just assuming that FBK would always be the number one. Then Korone passed her after a long time and Gura flashed beyond both of them and FBK now only goes down the list.

I guess this is the price of not pandering to the EOPlebs.

You don't need a FF7R to call something a remake just put a few shaders in, "high res" and push it on steam. The last few months FF9 banners were all over Square Enix webpages even on Lodestone. Maybe remaster is the better word today but back in my time a touch-up was just called a remake.

a JRPG is the worst thing you can play on stream.
Even a normal RPG is still pretty bad. The games streamers have to play need pretty high content engagement. Even a text adventure game would be a better choice than JRPG.

I think the order of game is this:
- Multiplayer board games (via collab)
- Arcade game
- Weirdly Obscure games (bad or good)
- Fast paced online game (collab or otherwise)
- Action game
- Interesting Minecraft stream
- Adventure game
- Boring minecraft stream
- RPG
- JRPG
- MMO

The lower down you go onto the rung the more you enter niche territory. Obscure games itself is a niche too but people like novelty which is why I think it's fair to put it far higher (also I'm biased towards them)

That is true that the game can be secondary in the stream but I personally find that baffling because you could probably do a talk only stream and get the same benefits.
