>>8207093>I don't have a clear view of what Hololive's box pushing isI'll give an example but showing what it was not.
Before Gen 3 there were some pairings like Aqua-Shion but for a new person being exposed to Hololive for the first time, they usually found out about one of the talents (let's say, Fubuki through Scatman short video) and they would take some time to find out the talent was part of a larger unit, part of a larger company.
It continued like that for quite a while too for the members of those gens, with Sora mostly doing her thing, Mel mostly doing her thing, Choco mostly doing her thing, Aqua, Shion, etc.
Enter Gamers, Gen 3 and the concept of "themed generations". Either deliberately or by an alignment of stars it created a HUGE bond between the members, and ended up creating a huge bond between the audience of a talent of that gen and all members of the gen.
And the gen members played it up too: Okayu-Korone, Noel-Flare, and assorted combinations between them made it possible for the new audiences to see each of them not as an individual talent but as part of an ensemble.
It continued with gen 4, gen 5 and I truly doubt anyone onboards Hololive these days through a single talent, it is more likely that they catch some Hololive hype and immediately get exposed to a handful of them.
