It's only August, but the past 8 months feel like some of the most pivotal since Vtubing reached the west in earnest. So many industry inflection points, spectacular downfalls of major players, and the rise of new ones in their place. Which will matter most down the line?

In terms of potentially permanent, industry-changing moments so far, my list would be:
1. Gwar Gura appearing on the LA Dodgers' jumbotron. Can't get more normie than baseball, and there is no turning back now.
2. Nijisanji EN's reputational downfall after the termination of Selen Tatsuki, crippling the western expansion potential of one of the two main global v-tubing players.
3. The resurgence of Vshojo and various large indies+small corpos filling the niche NijiEn once occupied, with no signs of market re-consolidation.
