>>82442814I think you're conflating a bunch of different anons into a singular entity, which in itself is a bad approach to take in regards to the topic. I still do feel we need discretion. Throwing full support into anything, or anyone without the "wait and see" mentality not only makes us seem desperate to accept anyone but also fools. Personally, I never witnessed someone who was genuinely from here bullying Kimoko. Especially considering she produced content for the thread for a decent length of time here, and on our other home. She did get some negative attention because her debut was crossposted in asp and choc, and anytime we cross into other threads we get people who attempt to stir the pot. Pafu was met with skepticism because her first two actions as I remember them were a catalogue thread, and then posting here with an interest, but her follow-through was minimal. To her credit, she also admits she would rather just hang around.
As for denpa, yeah that one I recall. One started from a post showing concern at her switching interests or content produced so rapidly, followed by another who retracted their support of her before it being muddied by some of her dedicated antis.
I feel that we do need the old guard still so the scope doesn't become completely divorced and unrecognizable. However, I said before that being more flexible prompted positive growth, and is needed so we have actual discussions beyond waiting for a select few creators. There is no way this thread would be able to stay on the board otherwise, and I'd rather not go back to trash.
I haven't contributed to this recent discussion at all. Any of them really in regards to additions. As someone who came to accept Maime and most the dollhouse, they're fine by me.
My view is - I'll preface it like normal. If someone is willing to understand they're falling into a niche that actively harms their growth, understands the negative attention they'll receive, and genuinely still wants to proceed? They're free to give it a go, and if they genuinely do love the art form and subculture, then it'll be clear to us when we watch them. Otherwise they'll filter themselves out.
