Dependency has a bit of a nasty implication. I think it's more that they have to sell their new product, ie the new gen as BRAND NEW NEVER SEEN BEFORE, which you can't really do if they have an entire indie history still up. This is again outdated and everyone already knows every holo's PL and how to find them, but it's still a core of corpo sales tactics.
The suits, out of touch and lizardlike in behavior as they might seem sometimes, still mean well I am sure and treat their talents well. They just forget some nuances of human behaviors and interactions that might cause situations like these from time to time. As schizophrenic as these threads are in their rrat breeding, the girls, holos and indies alike, are all doing well, and that's really all that matters. You can close the vt tabs and it's as if the people in these threads never even existed.
