Sure, Aqua's graduation was all those things, and the other cards kinda sorta indicated that Aqua might be struggling with things. But still, you'd expect literal magic to be more specific, considering how the deck had plenty of ways to communicate her future graduation better. Besides 8 of Cups, there are cards like Death, Tower and 10 of Swords that often signify end/dramatic change of something, there are cards like the reversed Devil or 8 of Swords that would signify escaping a situation that made her seem confined ("creative diffrences"), not to mention that you could easily interpret most Pentacle cards in reverse as dissaray in work/business. That's just from the top of my head. 8 of Wands is kinda reaching.
