A lot of the fancy 3D shit they've been doing is as a result of the company going public. I personally don't care about it, but the concerts and things like Dodgers Night are huge events that bring in a ton of eyeballs and money for the company.
The downside of this is that while Yagoo clearly has control of the company still, he has to give these people a fair hearing simply because not doing so is a great way to damage your reputation as a businessman.
No one really knows why Aqua quit. But it's possible some investors were pushing for a big change in content of some kind and Yagoo felt compelled to at least compromise with them. Or it could have been Cover issued new contracts less favorable to the talents and Aqua quit in protest. We will not know unless someone leaks or talks, and unlike Nijisanji, Cover is a much tighter operation and people generally don't leak (though Rushia was an exception).
