>>82463722The truth at hand is, Hololive has more possibilities now than ever before. They can get into big collaborations, they can hold giant concerts, their very own Expos, their own videogames, the list goes on.
I know people like to shit on Aqua for this, but consider at which point Aqua debuted into Hololive. Consider how VASTLY different the company and its guidelines were in the past.
Aqua isn't debuting because of some stupid Tempus / DEI / Brainrot rrat. Aqua is debuting because her working space has undergone a drastic transformation from "Quirky anime girls playing games and having rare idol concerts" to fullblown idol activities and much, MUCH harsher guidelines on what they can and can't stream.
Aqua doesn't hate Hololive - she simply doesn't enjoy the pace at which the brand is becoming more about business and responsibility than simply playing videogames first and being an idol second. Cover can't change the direction because they've undertaken too many talents at this point and have gone public.
Love it or hate it, when everyone else in the streamer scene who is NOT under a corporation's wing can simply do whatever they want and hire a personal manager to arrange small merch / collaboration deals while the talent just plays vidya all day and gets out for small idol activities, of course someone like Aqua would graduate and pursue this herself. This is literally what Hololive used to be. She's worked for this company for many years now, she's made enough bank where she can decide to retire and go back to her roots even if it will cost her the fame she used to have.
It might hurt for her fans, but this is for the best. She's not happy with the direction the company is taking and that's understandable. Some talents want to become full-blown idols and they're willing to forfeit the freedoms of an indie to make money and perform on stage - Aqua wants to be an indie on the same level as Doki if I had to blindly guess. Brand deals, merch, but none of this "You can't stream this, you can't do this, you can't say this, you can't feel a certain way about that." restriction that Hololive has thanks to the integrity of the brand and the restrictions of Japanese copyright law.
And that's simply that. There is no controversy, there is no "Secret change within the company that all the girls don't like", there is simply a girl that used to have a presence as an online streamer who suddenly witnessed her agency becoming a giant in the industry and simply wishes to return to how things used to be.
