I know that Uproar flopped massively which might be the reason why management isn't too gungho on debuting another gen despite having way less members than HoloJp (less than 1/3 of JP if I remember correctly) so it's not because of over saturation either. Personally, back when lockdown was a thing and I had all the time in the world to consume as much vtuber content as I wanted, I did give the StarsJP dudes a shot. But aside from Roberu and maybe ougaman, none of the stars were really that entertaining. I liked Astel's karaokes and I appreciated Aruran's supposed willingness to pander to EOPs like me at the time. But the rest of them felt like a bunch of NPCs. That's why the branch being stuck in mediocrity isn't really a surprise to me.
