To be fair, some perms are temporary. For example, IIRC, at least one member once said that ER perms only last a month (or two, my memory is rather vague but the point is that they don't last forever). IRyS said recently that she wanted to play Dave the Diver, too, but was hesitant because you have to ask for per for each stream
A year ago is too long so it's possible that their perm just expired
