>>83322481Okay, I am definitely an idiot for replying to a dumb bait post, but since I knew someone who studied psychology and did a lot of research on the topic (he had suicidal thoughts, though he never attempted), I think it's worth noting something that you definitely don't realize: most suicide attempts are done with whatever resources are available, and if any of the quick and reliable methods are not available, the attempt will instead be made with something that has a much higher failure chance.
Doki, like me, lives in Canada, which means that she almost definitely has zero firearms (gun suicide is one of the most reliable ways to do it), which means that method is out.
The next """""best""""" method is to throw yourself off of a bridge, but if you don't have a good bridge to throw yourself off of nearby... well, are you really going to travel a long distance for this? Nah, that's way too long to reconsider while you're traveling, you'll almost certainly not attempt.
Okay, hanging? Well, actually, that turns out to be quite hard to do properly. The guy I mentioned earlier pointed out that the only real fixture he had to hang a rope from, a ceiling fan, was weak enough that trying to hang himself from it would just tear out the fixture instead. And tying the rope properly is also another point of failure that you could easily screw up.
Which means the method of attempt was almost certainly a medication overdose, since that's A: really easy to access, and B: if you care about leaving a 'nice' body, it's also bloodless. The thing is, most medication overdoses actually fail to be lethal in most cases; the main reason the guy I knew never attempted is that he looked up the stats on the strongest medication he had, and discovered that the dose to reliably kill himself was comically high - more than the prescription had available at the time. And by that point... "I'm too lazy to go through with it, I'll just live and see what happens instead."
Doki likely had the same thought process, except did not have the flash of rationality. But, and this is important: that's still a suicide attempt. And, thankfully for all of her fans, friends, and family, she turned out to be making an attempt at a field of knowledge that she was extremely bad at.
