The only thing we knew about China is the song "Me Chinese! Me play joke! Me put pee pee in your coke!"
So you have Asians talking smack and white people growing up either seeing Asians as a real threat or as a cute fluffy uwu kawaii fluffy ball of fun and happy that will improve your life with feng shui and with so many different languages and cultures when you dig into it (compared to pan Americanism) a lot of whites don't know what to do with you on a macro scale.
