it all boils down to one thing, really: interesting real world life experiences.
modern day streamers, especially women, grew up behind closed doors either in front of their computers or phones, with next to no social interaction outside of an immediate friend group from school or online. and what happens is they become vapid and empty, unentertaining people.
this is something i realized going back to watch lets players from the early 2010s. the difference in life experience is like night and day. one early minecraft beta lets player i watched the other day was a hobby fisherman, and he had infinitely more engaging commentary in spite of his kronii-tier monotone voice. from the stories shared to how they engaged with the game in interesting ways, it's downright depressing where we ended up in terms of entertainment in online personalities. the severely limited tech of the early 2000s shaped the teens of back then in ways we just don't see anymore. it's amazing how much heightened social interaction and having just one physical outdoor activity in a community can shape one's way of engaging with an audience.
/asp/ies, you need to go outside. do something other than watch anime or play games ad nauseum.
