You could find individual streamers as entertaining as any of the Holos, but you can't replicate the vibe their interactions provide. The true appeal of Hololive is the dynamic between the members, but that dynamic, besides their genuine talent as entertainers, has been fostered by the points you mentioned. They did experiment a lot at the beginning, which is why Nijisanji was bigger back then, but then they found the perfect balance and ever since then they're by far the best to watch. There are some issues, sure, there always are, but as long as they remain generally drama free, there's nothing to doompost about.
And I'm saying this as someone who follows a lot of indies and is generally up to date with the Japanese small corpo scene. There are quite a few small corpo with way more idol-like behavior, but in the case of Hololive it's not their identity as a whole, only a part of it, which makes this sorta distorted version of idol culture appealing to nearly everyone.
