If you ignore the EN branch entirely, Hololive is still pretty based, gen 5 is a very fun branch and I loved their anniversary stuff. They seem to be moving away from what made them special and pandering more to overseas, so yeah, pretty soulless

Remember when they picked up minor streamers like marine, pekora and miko who are all more popular than even gura and keep coming up with new ways to make their content interesting and maintain attention? Now they just hired big big numbers and people who are good on paper and already have had huge followerships already. They lost sight of what made them successful.

It's like when a video game series becomes popular and in the new installment it suddenly becomes an open world game or chases some other recent trend rather than doing its own thing that made it special
