People are cringing hard at this "gay blockgame rp" stuff but they don't realize/remember how successful Dream SMP was. It exploded several channels into popularity and spawned tons of fan content. It makes sense that Hololive would try to make their own.
But it's not just that, there will also be a public side of the server for fans to play with lots of added content thanks to data packs and resource packs. I'm not sure exactly how far away from vanilla they are straying but I'd assume based on the dungeons and world hub that it won't be like a typical survival world. I'd expect at least a custom map made in worldpainter but I would even believe if the server is more adventure than building.
People are expecting the official Hololiver streams will influence how the public server experience goes. Just as an example, the holos could open up a mysterious portal on their stream and that means that hostile mob spawns are increased in the public world.
I'm really excited for this, it's a 3-day weekend in America so I hope it's open to the public tonight also. I don't remember if they said it was open to the public tonight or if they're just starting the RP streams tonight.
