I don't think it's unintentional. Cover hires career vtubers only, and prefers people with no real prospects elsewhere in life so they'll remain dependent on the company. The talent don't dare act out (in public) because they know Hololive is the best they'll ever make it in life. Even Aloe would've been tamed had she remained. In that regard, Cover's recruitment and management game is on point.

I didn't see anyone say anything like this about Pomu, Elira, Selen, or Rosemi. They were loved since their debuts.

Sounds like a Holofan's problem. It's valid to watch all the debuts and decide you didn't like any of them, but Hololive gained another pro artist, another music producer, a singer, an ASMR expert, multiple polyglots, and a former 1m sub memelord.

If that isn't 'good enough' for people then maybe Hololive is fated to crumble under its own weight. I am VERY okay with NijiEN's members not being 'good enough' for Hololive if it means Nijisanji aren't held to unattainable expectations and swathes of numberfags.

Elira is ok and even though I'd hate to break her and Pomu up, I wouldn't want to waste a spot on her necessarily.

Finana is where she belongs.

Petra is super boring, indistinguishable from any random indie. Same with Rose and on top of that she sounds like an ESL with a speech impediment.

I like Selen but she's about as far from Holo material as you can get. No Japanese, barely seems to like anime, mostly plays Apex. She's better off being able to associate primarily with western streamers and would probably get bored in the Hololive ecosystem.
