all the corpo vtubers have trademark protection on their names. no idea how it works in japan, but in usa if someone else has an established history of using the trademark before you register it, you can lose the trademark to prior art

The standard is to do some research and not shit all over someone else. It doesn't matter one bit who's the first to trademark. The original could destroy the ex-niji if she wanted to by just calling out this name takeover.
