>>84552626One thing that came with the Selen yab was that niji hate broke containment in a BIG way.
You can't underestimate what that type of shit does to your fanbase.
True, even before that they had a pretty poor reputation due to the play button stuff, the 1% stuff and a lot of other things, but most of the "sources" originated /here/ and only then moved outside, which meant that sisters' damage control attempts generally worked out (niji reddit was under corpo control, and chinkmaple was nuking anti-niji posts left and right).
But with Selen, they fucked up SO BAD that every single thing they threw on her began to be countered IMMEDIATELY. Sayu's issue was that she wasn't prepared to get nuked, and took a while in replying, had no support from others, and thanks to her emotional outbursts, even shut out some of the nijis who were confiding in her like Nina. The twitter/reddit crowd of anti-loli fags were also easy to rile up against the "muh pedo shota" type girl who had no narrative backing.
Selen though?
She was CLEAN, and she was PREPARED for this.
She had a statement ready within 24 hours, she had a whole-ass model ready to debut, she had lawyers prepared, worst case scenario she even had evidence of bullying that she kept with her in case Niji escalated further.
She also had a support system. Artists spoke for her (and shit on niji instead), her friends spoke for her, ex-nijis spoke for her, indies spoke for her. #WhereisSelen already had a narrative being built against the company due to her silence.
And of course she had the most powerful narrative of "an hero" on her side.
Nijisisters had nothing to counter that, no shota jokes to blame on her. All they had was some vague-ass "BPD" shit, but for a yab that broke containment into normie territory and had "bullying" involved? It only reinforced Doki's own narrative.
In the end, if Selen was let go in a more graceful manner, niji would still have died. But the death have taken a lot longer (like 3-5 years) and it would be seen in a more pitiful way, like a corpo that couldn't keep their best talents, rather than a fucking toxic work environment where the livers are harassed to the point of suicide.
The moment shitting on nijisanji publicly became "acceptable" was the day they signed their death warrant.
