Think about this for a minute
You're Ina, you're doing fairly well in your gen. EN2 is coming, and you know that they're going to have at least one art person in the group. We're at peak vtuber, which means that no matter the attention (viewers) and wallet (disposable income of the viewers) gets split. There's not a lot of room for growth anymore. If you haven't heard of vtubers by now, the only way you'll hear about it is when the fucking BBC or CNN makes some outrageous report on them.
So you lie awake at night, on how to maintain your position. Then you remember your acquaintance. She's less talented than you, but still she'd stand out over other applicants. You're familiar with her and her quirks, and you already know that if worse comes to worst you can deal with her shit. You suggest she should apply, because you know she'll never become more popular than you.
She does, and eventually management asks for your opinion. You give them the thumbs up. In fact, you casually mention: "Ever since I heard about it, I've been thinking on some conceptual stuff. I've made a few rough sketches". You show them a few rough sketches, including the spacenegress. "It's a diversity thing, reddit will fucking gobble that shit up, trust me."
Management rolls with it, because they have to do zero effort. The designs have the lore and everything in small notes. The spacenegress becomes the least popular of the new gen, the only real competition for Ina's viewerbase.
That, fellow anons, is the inner machinations of holoEN at work. Nobody ever suspects nice and quiet Ina with her little puns. Fucking Brutus was less ruthless when he plunged the knife into Caesar. Good luck little spacenegress, beware the ides of march.
