I would argue a warden of time would need to have the ability to deal with multiple timelines in order to have any success whatsoever of dealing with temporal anomalies, anything less would render the role pointless.
The nature of the ability for Amelia to use the watch is up in the air, is she some kind of chosen one? Is it simply a magic item anyone can use?
Then we have to ask is the watch more powerful than a being presumably created to stop the exact kind of time fuckery the thing is capable of.
Finally I have a hard time believing a billion year old inhuman being could easily be manipulated by a young detective, but if we go by superhero movie logic it would work.
I'd like to think that Kronii allows Ame to dick around with the watch because the alternative would be worse (some kind of villain plotline where they need all the help they can get) but hey it's all fanfiction
