Additionally the management of them was at the time somewhat separate from both the jp as a whole (as the en branch) and from the girls so it would make things easier to just say it was a graduation and not a termination
A graduation would be something like coco or aqua, where the talents clearly come out to say: "hey i don't want to do this anymore so i'll leave at this date" (possibly coinciding with contract renewal)
Not something like: "uuuh we definitely didn't suspend them nope, they both just aren't streaming for some reason" 2 weeks pass "uuuh well actually they are going to "graduate" but no they aren't going to have a graduation stream, in fact, they aren't going to stream anymore or post anything anywhere anymore, no you can't talk to them anymore" happening at exactly the time where they would get their contracts renewed while the RM accounts seethe for years afterwards instead of finding a conclusion in that story like other hololive talents found
