males, talking about males, collabing with males, is unpleasant to a certain large group of the hololive audience. so by having the hololive brand on you, you are exposed to millions of people who find male content to be unpleasant.
maybe you think it's dumb that this is the way it is, but it doesn't matter what you think, because it is the way that it is.
the leadership knows this, the management knows this, the talents know this.
they're allowed to do male content, but they want the money, so they don't do it.
some holos would, at some point, feel like they're above this and do male content because they think they're good enough, talented enough, valuable enough, entertaining enough, that they can act "normal" and still make money.
so they try it. they ignore what the fanbase says and go ahead to do male content.
then the viewership starts to drop off and they realize they're actually not as good as they thought, so they make a u-turn and go back to doing no-males content to make money again.
