How do you introduce the uninitiated to vtubers? Explaining is easy enough, but which content would you show them to get them to understand the appeal?

I don't think it makes sense to introduce a normal person directly to vtubers. Vtubers are something you move onto after you're already a weeb. In which case you'd naturally find them on your own.

They are cringe, but that is a good thing. It helps filtering ironic weebs. A true vtuber enjoyer is typing cringe shit to praise his oshi when she does anything remotely cute or smart. Retards who only care about displaying their tastes on twitter or discord instead of actually engaging with their hobbies can't handle unironic fun.

vtubers are just streamers. Cover created a trend with Hololive by treating their vtubers as idol celebrities which fused the appeal of streaming and idol culture, and opened a new audience to idol culture who were previously only interested in streaming. Vtubing helped bridge the gap because otaku love to connect with anime characters even if they don't understand the culture as opposed to connecting with real women who don't play a character on stream. Yes, vtubers are just professional celebrities that connect with their fanbase via usually doing streaming.
