I don't like the way they handle it at all. I saw a clip of the pink rabbit talking about it and I thought wow she is thinking about is retarded if people think similarly that's gonna become a problem
>What's bad about it?
With the way they're trying to use this "affiliate" thing is basically a way to chained the Teammates with the illusion of Ame's PROBABLE come back, emphasis on the probable because nobody know if she ever will comeback, and the use of this "Door" as Kiara framed is basically a cuff on the leg of Teammates to never let them MOVE ON, people should not have this big of an attachment to a character, you can 100% like them even love them but the unwillingness of moving on from it signals a a problem, a parasocial one at that.
>Why is Cover doing this?
Cover knows they have created fanatics, people who would go to crazy lengths to the point where they would literally search throughout who the individual behind the avatar is, they absolutely have an understanding that when the individual behind moves on to another thing or becomes an indie they take away fans(money) from the brand and that probably are never looking into Hololive or spending money on it at all if they don't have other talents they watch already. This weird play they want to pull out is crazy to say the least, it feels like a manipulation, like they're jingling the corps of Ame saying "look look she isn't all the way gone MAYBE she could comeback for X, Y or Z event", I'm understanding about the possibility that they probably had a bunch of stuff and recordings planned before her departure and they want to be able to use those unannounced voice packs and merch and not just throw it away and waste all the plans but there must've been a better way than whatever this is, I'm sure they could've come to an agreement of her still receiving a percentage even after she graduate and than just end it there.
>Cover now need to be aware of how they phrase they announcements for events
Now every time an event or something similar comes up, the core audience of Ame is going to have this thought on the back of their heads for as long as Holo exists, they're going to gaslight themselves and most of casual fans too with this absolute shitty toxic positivity when they see announcements "There's a possibility she is gonna show up on here couldn't hurt to get the tickets for it, and even she doesn't shows up, heh well I'm supporting her beloved friends I'm doing good" the absolute implications for the future graduation stuff looks insane to say the least. The only possible good route I can see this taking is people slowly people forgetting about her as time passes and less people buy her future merch for random appearances enough so she doesn't see the point in keep using the corpse of the character and moves on.
>The person behind Amelia Watson should move on.
I don't understand why she can't just move on and feels the need to just make this half-assed thing, maybe the money she still gets when she barely streams it's enough of an incentive for her to try and pull this thing. She absolutely would be doing WAY more money if she started as an indie, but she can't pull that now after all the "problematic clips" of a certain person resurfaced saying 'nigger' and being a retard for fun, and probably she doesn't want to deal with the V-retirement home asking her to joined them because "You has incredible creative potential and she can absolutely have talent freedom with them"or agencies trying to poach her with money and deals to joined them. I've seen some rrrats claiming "well she just wants to study something important and do something different with her life but have the affiliate stuff as a back up plan" but that's retarded if she is stopping all ways of streaming she is going to lose all the interest of the people the more time it passes without her, she can't stream and do anything that would remotely bring problems to Hololive because everyone know how she fucking sounds like and it would reflect poorly on the company because people would just bring it up if she ever tries to make a "full comeback". If she seriously just stopping streaming altogether she should just keep it that way and just move on, close that chapter in your life. It just seems she's insecure about what she is doing next and it reeks of selfishness when she is using the "I don't want to abandon my friends" when they can absolutely talk normally on their private life, as the pink rabbit framed it "when a vtuber graduates they really just die and move on to do other stuff" YES that's GOOD people need to know and understand when to move on completely it's not healthy to be attached to the individual behind the Amelia, people and the fans SHOULD NOT be wanting or needing to know what the person behind the character is doing with their life this is why graduation are actually good, I understand caring about it due to the time invested but you gotta move on in life.
