>>85836534It's worth it if you are willing and ABLE to gather a paying fanbase. For male vtubers this tends to be a female fanbase. However you're not gonna get this by just being a normal guy streaming. You need a character and you need to hit character tropes that appeals to the target audience. Just like popular female vtubers rely on lewdposting, low key dirty jokes, seiso/comfy, ASMR, S/M power dynamics, pickme gremlin tropes, raw singing talent, niches like retrogaming, ADHD flips, Hag yapping, you have to come up with something that resonates with your average female vtuber fan.
Whether that's being a flamboyant fujobaiter, a bad boy deepvoice yumejoshi fantasy, a chihuahua brat, a golden retriever prince, a black cat rogue, a bull mastiff dom, an androgynous LGBT bait, or something else, is up to you but there is one golden rule:
If you have to ask, then no, you can't make it as an entertainer by just "being yourself". When you don't have enough personality to grab people's attention, then you need to manufacture a personality.
Bear in mind though, this is not easy or simple and can very well lead to the psych burnout that a lot of female vtubers get criticized for when they start dropping their activity levels.
