Death of a VTuber

No.85952745 View ViewReplyOriginalReport
If you were wondering, that VTuber is me, and not Watame. I just like using her for the pic. I know you guys don’t like long stories, so I’ll give you the rundown.
I started about two years ago after being inspired by Hololive and VShojo.
With terrible equipment, I started on YouTube then migrated to Twitch when I wasn’t getting any viewers.
Did Twitter, got fairly big numbers, attracted a small audience.
Did my first collab with a male vtuber, who proceeded to mock and deride me throughout the collab, decided never to collab with a guy one on one ever again.
Found my first mod (who proceeded to emotionally blackmail me via suicide threats (trans)) and finally blocked them about a year after first contact.
Stayed fairly isolated from the wider Vtuber community, got invited to a server.
Had fun with the server, co-owner eventually got accused of diddling, and it collapsed.
Over the past few months, my physical and mental health have been deteriorating from a massive buildup of events, both online and irl.
So, I have decided I shall finish my stay as a VTuber, with a respectable audience size, fairly written YouTube videos, and nice viewers, next year on my birthday.
I’ve posted on /vt/ a few times before, but I’m not an /asp/ie or anything like that.
I just generally like the community here, despite the infighting.
I’ve seen so many other VTubers come and go, and have felt proud of myself to last so long, but it looks like my time is finally up.
So, yeah. I’m dead!
I’ll still keep watching VTubers, just not participate in the community as much.
Well, if you read this, even a bit of it, thank you very much.
If you posted “i ain’t readin allat,” thank you anyways.
Sorry if this came out rambly and nonsensical, you guys have been great, and I’ll be seein ya.
