The VA industry is filled to the brim with cliques and pronoun bullshit in the US/CAN, and if you don't play by those silly wack-ass pronoun rules and tiptoe around causing offense, you get absolutely pariah'd. Dodging specifying your 'pronoun' is just a tactful way of saying 'I hate playing this stupid pronoun game, please don't bring this up again'. I'm glad she's found success outside that cancerous hellhole that's as bad as Hollywood bullshit at times if not worse.
