If you're actually planning on still looking out for them then, well, you move out and spend all that money and then you're struggle to help when some medical this or emergency scenario that comes up. Even if you're not, you could've had extra money for those pricey scenarios.
With the money for moving out and buying, renting or building a place of my own, I could either upgrade a house I already like for emergency scenarios or make a shelter. Not gonna make the mistake of thinking first-world means the weather can't dab on the infrastructure (especially power systems) again.
